Taylor Swift Joins Travis Kelce’s Podcast to Reveal Album Details
Taylor Swift has officially revealed more about her upcoming 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl, set for release on October 3, 2025. Appearing on her boyfriend Travis Kelce’s New Heights podcast, which he co-hosts with his brother Jason Kelce, Swift discussed the record’s creation, inspirations, and collaborations.
The title track will feature Sabrina Carpenter, adding another layer of anticipation for fans. The album also includes a cover of George Michael’s 1987 classic Father Figure.

A 12-Song Album Celebrating a Milestone
Swift revealed that the 12 tracks on The Life of a Showgirl are a nod to this being her 12th album. Recorded in Europe during her record-breaking Eras Tour, the project reflects her life behind the scenes while on the road.
“The album comes from an infectiously joyful, wild, dramatic place in my life,” Swift shared. “That effervescence has come through on this record. It’s full of bangers.”

No Surprise Second Album This Time
Unlike The Tortured Poets Department, which came with an unexpected 31-song release, Swift confirmed there will be no bonus tracks or second album drop. “There’s not a 13th song, not other ones coming,” she said. “This is the record I’ve been wanting to make for a very long time.”
Return of Max Martin and Shellback
Swift also announced the return of Swedish producers Max Martin and Shellback, who previously worked with her on Red, 1989, and Reputation. Calling them “geniuses,” she credited them for some of her biggest hits, including Shake It Off and Blank Space.
A Focus on Quality and Cohesion
Every song on the album was chosen with intention. “You couldn’t take one out and it be the same album,” Swift said. She described the project as “a perfect puzzle,” with infectious melodies and vivid, precise lyrics.
Fan Clues and Album Announcement Build-Up
True to tradition, Swift teased fans before the official announcement. On August 12, her website transformed into a glittering orange countdown page, briefly crashed, and then revealed the album details. The lead-up sparked massive buzz across social media and fan communities.
Breaking Records and Building Anticipation
Taylor Swift remains one of the world’s bestselling musicians, with over 200 million records sold globally. Her last album, The Tortured Poets Department, shattered Spotify streaming records and secured all top 14 spots on the Billboard Hot 100. With The Life of a Showgirl, expectations are set sky-high for another era-defining release.
